What is Wild Turkey Thanksgiving Traditions?
Throughout November, Wild Turkey Thanksgiving Traditions celebrates the rituals that define the holiday season, from hosting Friendsgiving and sharing a favorite cocktail with loved ones to lending a hand to others. Rooted in the belief that some traditions are worth preserving, the program builds on Wild Turkey’s longstanding tradition of helping those in need during the holidays.

At participating bars and restaurants, consumers can enjoy seasonal Wild Turkey cocktail specials featuring Wild Turkey 101. Participating accounts may choose to make a voluntary $20 contribution directly to The Farmlink Project. Consumers can also make donations directly to The Farmlink Project through a link available on the Wild Turkey website, helping build on the brand’s $101,000 donation to the organization.

For those celebrating at home, Wild Turkey is sharing holiday cocktail inspiration through a curated kit from Cocktail Courier, bringing the taste of Wild Turkey to the table. Because, after all, it’s not Thanksgiving without the (Wild) Turkey. Fans also had the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes for the chance to win an exclusive Friendsgiving experience at the distillery in Kentucky, featuring a tour, tastings and curated local experiences.

“Thanksgiving is about coming together, and giving back has always been part of Wild Turkey’s tradition,” said Allison Varone, Head of Marketing at Campari America. “This year, we’re proud to carry that forward by bringing people together over Wild Turkey while supporting The Farmlink Project’s mission to fight food insecurity.”

“As a holiday centered around food and gathering, Thanksgiving is a time of abundance for many, but for too many families, putting enough food on the table remains a challenge,” said Kate Nelson, Founding Team Member and Head of Brand Partnerships at The Farmlink Project. “With so much perfectly good food going to waste across the country, we’re incredibly grateful for Wild Turkey’s continued support, which will help us move more surplus food to those who need it this holiday season.”

ABOUT WILD TURKEY
The distillery for Wild Turkey Bourbon is in Kentucky, situated on a deep limestone shelf on the Kentucky River. The shelf acts as a natural filter and provides the distillery with crystal clear water, vital to making such a high-quality product. Wild Turkey features the legendary father and son Master Distilling team of Jimmy and Eddie Russell, who have over 100 years of collective experience working at the Wild Turkey distillery, and are now joined by the next generation, Associate Blender Bruce Russell.

The famous Wild Turkey brand name first came about back in 1940 when distillery executive Thomas McCarthey took a few warehouse samples on a Wild Turkey hunting trip with a group of friends. The following year, his friends asked him for “some of that Wild Turkey whiskey” and the brand was born.

Wild Turkey is distilled and put into new oak barrels at a much lower ABV than most bourbons. This results in a much richer flavor, as less is cooked out during the production process. Aging in the highest quality new American oak barrels with the heaviest char available (the Number 4 “alligator” char), imparts a smooth flavor and deep amber color to the whiskey. The barrels are filled at the distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Website: wildturkey.com.
