Shamrock Names Jessica Samuels President, Building on the Roofing Company’s Female Leadership Team

With owner Roxie Armstrong and now Samuels at the helm, the $50 million roofing company is woman-owned and women-run, a rarity in an industry where few women lead companies of this size. Roxie Armstrong: The Heart of the Family Business
Roxie Armstrong built Shamrock alongside her husband, Jim Armstrong, who founded the company in 1977. After Jim passed away, Roxie carried the company forward as owner, with their son Garen at her side. Under her ownership, Shamrock grew from a Kansas City roofer into a super-regional company serving 14 markets across 10 states, and earned a spot at No. 12 on the Kansas City Business Journal’s Fast 50 list in 2021. Ask Roxie who she is, though, and she’ll start with family. She is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loves tending her flower and vegetable gardens, canning what she grows, curling up with a good book and walking her dogs, and she and Jim shared a love of classic car and truck shows. Her faith has carried her through good seasons and hard ones, and she has never been shy about saying so. That faith shows up in how she serves. Roxie has helped raise money and supplies for a horse farm that serves returning soldiers living with PTSD and runs programs for children, including children with disabilities. She has walked with the Shamrock team in the American Heart Association’s Kansas City Heart Walk. Her care for those who serve also lives on in Shamrock’s Roofs4Heroes program, which donates new roofs to veterans, first responders, and linemen.

Jessica Samuels: Grown Up Through the Ranks
One of the things Roxie is proudest of is the people who have grown with Shamrock, and Jessica Samuels is one of them. Jessica joined the company in 2022 on the customer service team. Since then, she has run department after department, from supplements to the front office to operations. Today she is President of Shamrock Roofing and Construction. Homeowners know Jessica as their advocate. She built and led the team that walks customers through insurance payments, depreciation and final invoices, so families always know where they stand. “I’ve worked in every department at Shamrock, from the field to the front office, and I know what our people do every day to take care of our customers,” said Samuels. “I’m honored to lead this team.
